Prepare the Shrimp Season the shrimp with salt and pepper. Make sure they are dry to get a good sear.
Cook the Shrimp In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Garlic Butter Sauce In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter and minced garlic. Sauté the garlic for about 1 minute, being careful not to burn it.
Combine Shrimp and Sauce Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet with the garlic butter. Stir well to coat the shrimp in the sauce.
Add Lemon Juice and Parsley Squeeze the lemon juice over the shrimp and sprinkle with chopped parsley. If desired, add a pinch of red pepper flakes for some heat.
Serve Serve the garlic butter shrimp immediately, preferably over cooked pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
